ABOUT JOY
I am Joy, a seeker of creativity, explorer of nature, dream chaser, and mother of two. Over the years, I have found the best way to exercise my heart and soul is through the practice of creating Art.
There is no deeper way to unleash my feelings than with a palette of colorful paints!
My love for art all started in Kindergarten, when I told my teacher I would rather paint at the easel than sit on the rug in a circle. Years later, I was professionally trained at Illinois State University in Fine Arts which prepared me for the fast-paced world of Advertising in Chicago.
As an Art Director for an agency, I designed and directed campaigns for many national clients such as: Quaker Oats, Kellogg’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Kraft Foods, Nickelodeon and several others. For nearly two decades, my focus area was mostly in Kid’s Marketing which was perfect for my illustrative art style of bright colors and whimsical characters.
After I gained this relevant experience, I went on to raising two wonderful kids who have flown the nest and gone to college. I am now back in the studio creating a new series of paintings, teaching spiritual art journaling and exhibiting in local art shows.
